Green Dot Public Schools is seeking a School Operations Manager (SOM) to lead all non-instructional functions of our schools, enabling the principal and instructional staff to focus on student achievement. This role reports to the principal and manages a school operations team, including a Parent Coordinator and Office Assistant, with support from our district office Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Lead the school operations team; set performance and development goals for the Parent Coordinator and Office Assistant; collaborate with the broader Green Dot school operations staff learning community to drive operational best practices.
  • Finance and Purchasing: Lead procurement and purchasing for the school, including placing orders, inventorying items, handling returns/exchanges, managing cash receipts, deposits, payroll, staff reimbursement forms, and substitute teacher tracking. Coordinate with the Finance & Accounting Team to ensure effective implementation of financial policies and assist the principal with budget management.
  • Student Information and Reporting: Manage the student information system and attendance reporting and intervention process; coordinate with Green Dot’s Knowledge Management Team for data audits and reporting; ensure confidentiality and security of all student, parent, staff, and community information.
  • School Nutrition Program: Oversee the School Nutrition Program, including managing servers, coordinating with the meal vendor, ensuring compliance, conducting monthly food safety audits, and maintaining the meal program’s financial health.
  • Facilities: Manage routine maintenance requests in Green Dot’s work order system; ensure maintenance, janitorial, and pest control services are properly carried out; oversee the upkeep of school facilities and coordinate with the Facilities team for school projects.
  • Student Enrollment and Lottery: Manage the enrollment cycle, admissions, and enrollment database with support from the Operations team, including student recruitment, lottery and waitlist management, and parent enrollment orientations.
  • Student Health and Safety: Manage school safety processes and compliance, including administering trainings, coordinating drills and safety audits, and acting as the liaison with the security vendor; partner with the Principal and Green Dot’s Security team to respond to emergencies.
  • Event Planning & Coordination: Plan and coordinate logistics for school events such as back-to-school nights and parent conferences; arrange transportation with bus companies for regular and field trip needs.
  • State & Federal Compliance: Ensure all compliance requirements are completed on time.
  • Oversee other tasks or special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience (four years preferred), with at least one year of experience managing others or multiple large-scale projects; prior school experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual/highly proficient in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership, and tenacity.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; comfortable learning new computer programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and perform well under pressure.
  • Maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude at all times.
  • High level of personal responsibility and drive toward ambitious goals.
  • Dedication to customer service and discretion in disseminating information.

  • Must pass a TB test and background check at the time of offer.

Job Requirements

  • Work Hours: Consistent attendance during scheduled hours is required; flexibility is limited by classroom or operational needs.
  • Breaks: Structured within the workday and must align with operational needs and student care requirements.
  • Physical Requirements: May require interacting with students or moving through various parts of the school.
  • Social Requirements: Extensive interaction with students, colleagues, and the public.
  • On-Site Presence: Regular, in-person attendance is required; remote work is generally not an option.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $67,000 - $77,000, based on education and experience. Opportunities for salary growth are available over time, though offers near the upper end of the range are uncommon.
