About the role
The School of Social Work at the Palm Desert Campus seeks a graduate assistant with strong research skills for a project examining food insecurity in the Coachella Valley area, leveraging community-based partnerships to do so.
Responsibilities
- Aiding in survey design and administration
- Engaging in outreach and collaboration with community partners
- Analyzing survey data
- Communicating research findings orally and in writing in community and academic settings
Requirements
Current enrollment full or part-time as a graduate student at CSUSB
Successful completion of graduate level research methods course
International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (6 units)
Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Eligible to work in the United States
Qualifications
- Ability to learn and perform assigned research work
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with university and community partners
- Knowledge of community-based research approaches
- Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality, professional writing and oral communications
Skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential
