About the Role
PediaStaff, a trusted leader in pediatric therapy and educational staffing solutions since 2004, is seeking a dedicated School Occupational Therapist for a full-time position in the Leonardtown, MD area. This role involves supporting students in school settings by assessing their needs, developing individualized plans, and implementing interventions to help them succeed academically, socially, and physically. The position offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Job Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
- Dates: ASAP – June 11, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 35 hours per week, 12-hour shifts
- Setting: In-person, school-based
- Caseload: Approximately 50 students across 4 schools
Key Responsibilities
- Assess students' motor, sensory, and functional abilities to identify areas of need and develop individualized therapy plans.
- Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions in accordance with students' IEPs, helping them achieve academic and developmental goals.
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to create supportive learning environments tailored to students' unique needs.
- Contribute to the development of IEPs by offering insights on motor development, sensory needs, and appropriate accommodations or modifications.
Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Maryland Occupational Therapy License
- Experience with children, especially in school settings, preferred
