School Nurse (Pre-K - Grade 8) - Immediate Opening

About the role

Wellan Montessori School is accepting applications for a School Nurse position to begin in July. The School Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and documenting school health care systems and protocols in compliance with Massachusetts laws and regulations. The School Nurse works closely with the administrative team and serves as a resource to the school community.

Responsibilities

• Conducting health screenings
• Dispensing medication
• Administering routine medical and emergency care
• Communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, Master's degree preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts
• Massachusetts DESE Certification as a School Nurse or be able to obtain it
• Certification in CPR, AED, First Aid
• Minimum of three years of full-time nursing experience with a concentration in pediatrics, school nursing, camp nursing, or community nursing

Qualifications

• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills
• Highly organized, thorough, and detail-oriented
• Understanding of child development, ages 15 months to 14 years
• Sound clinical judgment, sensitivity, and respect for all persons

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
