School Nurse

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• Current WI Nursing license required
• 1+ years School Nurse experience
• Effective and appropriate interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work with diverse ethnic and socioeconomic communities
• Current knowledge of community resources
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with appropriate staff
• Proficient user of MS Office software
• Bilingual Spanish preferred

Job Description

• Establishes appropriate relationships with families, children, staff, and the public which ensures a safe environment that protects the families and children rights
• Maintains accurate immunization files for all school students
• Provides medical care to all school students as needed
• Maintains effective referral systems
• Communicates effectively with all staff
• Responds to first aid and other medical concerns as they arise
• Administers, logs, and tracks medications, while storing in a secure place
• Leads the School’s Wellness Plan
• Works with Food Services Supervisor to promote healthy choices and habits
• Schedules and facilitates code blue drills
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Principal
