School Nurse
Job Description
Maintain the acute/chronic health care clinic in the school.
Administer medication in accordance with standards set by the System Registered Nurse.
Administer emergency injections as required and approved by SRN.
Perform basic first aid/CPR as needed.
Monitor school premises for unsafe situations.
Monitor student immunization records/health forms/hearing, dental, and vision records for state requirements.
Instruct students in basic infection control practices.
Perform specialized nursing procedures as needed.
Establish database of students with chronic health conditions/illnesses.
Serve as the chairperson of the pediculosis committee in the school.
Perform vision screening on students.
Assist SRN in health screening.
Aid students and staff with personal health care needs.
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding health care needs of students.
Aid other school health personnel and/or SRN in establishing individual health care plans.
Aid SRN in scheduled classes and in-services.
Attend yearly updates for first aid, medication administration, pediculosis monitoring, universal precautions, vision testing, and basic health care skills.
Disseminate information about health resources available to families.
Aid in education to prevent high-risk behavior such as use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs.
Required Education, Certification Or Training
Current Georgia licensure in nursing and Current AHA/BLS CPR certification.

Pay
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): $22.11
- Radiology Technician (RN): $23.93
