School LPN

About the role

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide substitute classroom support for students with medical and personal-care needs. This is a classroom-based position with nursing-related responsibilities. The LPN will work alongside teachers and other school staff to help students participate safely and comfortably throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Assist students feeding by mouth.
• Provide toileting and personal-care assistance.
• Assist with safe transfers to wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment.
• Support students with activities throughout the school day.
• Follow each student’s established care plan and all safety procedures.
• Observe students and promptly communicate health-related concerns to the appropriate school staff.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, nurses, and other members of the school team.
• Maintain each student’s dignity, safety, comfort, and privacy.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted LPN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs is preferred.
• Comfortable providing toileting, feeding, mobility, and transfer assistance.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and able to work effectively in a classroom environment.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks and health screenings.
• Must have PEDS experience.

Pay

$34.00 per hour

Schedule

7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; flexible scheduling based on coverage needs; PRN/substitute classroom coverage; classroom-based school setting.
