School Guidance Counselor (Academic Year)

Job Responsibilities

Discusses the comprehensive school counseling program work plan with the school administrators and the supervising director to work collaboratively with staff to implement a comprehensive school counseling program.

• Provides leadership and collaborates with other educators in the school-wide integration of the State Guidance curriculum standards for student development.
• Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student’s needs and school goals.
• Affords individual and group guidance to all students, assisting them in developing academic, career, and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• Must have a Master’s Degree and Licensure by the SC Department of Education in Guidance-Elementary or Secondary or Associate Guidance – Secondary or Secondary Advance.
• Must have two (2) years’ experience teaching or counseling.
• Must have knowledge of the communication and cultural issues related to serving sensory impaired individuals.
