School Food Service Substitute Worker

About the role

We are seeking reliable and motivated Substitute Food Service Workers to join our school dining teams in the West Milford, NJ area. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative environment, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring students have a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and cooking under the direction of the Kitchen Manager and Food Service Director.
• Set up and stock food stations with necessary supplies.
• Serve food and beverages to students and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
• Handle basic math and operate a register when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or school dining is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
