School Day Porter

Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM

About the role

Join Campus Services Group (CSG) as a School Day Porter! In this role, you’ll help keep the school clean and safe by performing daily janitorial tasks. You’ll work closely with staff and students, ensuring the school meets high cleanliness standards. You will also be responsible for operating a school vehicle around campus to collect and transport trash and waste materials.

Pay

USD $16.00 – USD $17.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial tasks in entryways, corridors, classrooms, cafeterias, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and safety
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, floors, and commodes; replenish lavatory supplies as needed
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and remove graffiti
• Safely use cleaning solutions, adhering to all safety precautions
• Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors
• Assist with event support and respond to paging systems promptly
• Follow infection control and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment
• Ensure customer service and cleaning standards are consistently met
• Operate a school vehicle around campus to collect and transport trash and waste materials
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be comfortable safely operating a vehicle throughout the school campus as part of daily job responsibilities
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting is preferred
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently
• Must complete all responsibilities without supervision after training
• Must be punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
• Must be able to work around food and cleaning products
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customers
• Must provide a criminal background check
