About the role
The School Counselor will provide individual counseling sessions to help students cope with academic, personal, social, or family concerns.
Responsibilities
- Responding to the daily issues that arise within a school, including crisis response if necessary.
- Planning “Boy Talk”; planning and/or leading “Girl Talk” (Discipleship-focused small group time), 4th - 6th grade
- Preparing and presenting classroom guidance lessons as needed
- Safe Touch Talks, grades PS - 2nd grade
- Consulting with school administration to identify and resolve student issues, needs, and problems.
- Consulting with teachers to provide strategies to help students who are struggling academically, behaviorally, and emotionally, and giving support to the teacher.
- Working with parents to help foster communication between home and school.
- Writing and overseeing behavior mediation plans - including collaborating with teachers and families to create the plan, follow up with the student, and reassessment.
- Planning and presenting the Bullying Chapel.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
