Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience working with middle and high school students in an independent school or general professional setting
- Strong communication and customer service skills with an emphasis on patience and professionalism
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines
- Ability to build and strengthen positive relationships among students, parents, and educators
- Work independently and know how to use appropriate resources as needed
- Possess a high degree of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality and initiative; Pro-active individual that will be able to respond quickly and positively to all manners of situations with poise and quiet efficiency
- Quick study/proactive/willingness to ask questions and push initiatives forward
- Experience working with data and generating database reports, record keeping software, and strong proficiency with Google Docs and Excel
- Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Demonstrated excellent writing, oral communication and presentation skills
- Be well versed and implement requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Follow Geffen Academy and UCLA policies, procedures, school handbooks' requirements and protocols
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
- Master's Degree in Counseling/Guidance, Psychology, or Social Work or equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Conditions for Employment
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
- TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
- CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse."
