About the role

LeafSpring School is seeking a dependable and caring Cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals and snacks for our students. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to food safety, and comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks.
• Follow established menus, recipes, portion sizes, and dietary guidelines.
• Accommodate documented food allergies and special dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen.
• Follow food-safety, storage, labeling, and temperature-control procedures.
• Order supplies, monitor inventory, and reduce food waste.
• Clean dishes, utensils, equipment, and food-preparation areas.
• Coordinate with school staff regarding meal schedules and student needs.
• Maintain required meal, temperature, inventory, and sanitation records.

Requirements

• Previous cooking or food-service experience; school or childcare experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergy prevention.
• Ability to follow menus and prepare meals for groups.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20lbs.
• Current food-handler certification, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to pass required background checks.

Schedule

7:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday – Friday. No nights or weekends.
