USD 383 is looking for people who enjoy being a part of a school community and can assist in providing safe transportation for our students to and from school/activities. This is an ideal opportunity for retirees, veterans, college students, and people needing a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist young or special education students in getting on and off the bus.
- Assist the bus driver with maintaining discipline and monitoring students while the bus is in operation.
- Assure responsible adult meets students leaving the bus as required.
- Communicate with drivers, teachers, aides and parents concerning student medical needs and behavior as appropriate.
- Consult with bus driver in the documentation of student information and possible assigned seating.
- Understand and relate to students with special needs.
- Be able to teach students proper vehicle safety lessons.
- Utilize car seats and harness clasps, seat belts and wheelchair security as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the bus driver.

Pay
$12.00 - $14.00/hr. Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).
Schedule
- Mornings: 6:00am – 9:00am
- Afternoons: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
- Average of 6 hours a day / 30 hours a week
- Possible additional hours with noon routes and/or working for another department
- No nights, no weekends
- School year calendar work schedule option—be off on days your student is off
