School Bus Monitor

SD308 is seeking qualified candidates for School Bus Monitor positions. Work hours will vary.

Pay

• $16.00 per hour (inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund)
• Monthly attendance bonus

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to handle emergency situations, evaluations, and administer first aid in a timely manner
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background, and TB testing
• Knowledge of or ability to learn safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver with the safety, movement, management, and care of students
• Learn and adapt to each student's medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs
• Serve as a role model by demonstrating a positive attitude and self-control
• Protect the confidentiality of student records and information
• Secure students who use child safety restraint systems
