Position Qualifications
- Education - Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma preferred.
- Experience - At least five years of licensed driving experience, excluding driving permit experience.
- Computer Skills - Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for the position.
- Certificates and/or Licenses - Possession of a valid Florida CDL Class B with “P” and “S” endorsement driver license. Complete forty hours of School Bus Driver training offered by the Marion County School System or hold a valid certificate of training provided by the State of Florida, [FLDOE 6A-3.0141(4)(b)].
Necessary Special Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Good driving record with no more than 4 points on driver’s license.
- Must be examined annually by a licensed physician designated by the School Board, per Florida Statute 1012.45(1) and pass the physical using the approved physical form.
- Must pass the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course provided by the Marion County School System.

Physical Requirements
- L-Light Work - Required to push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
