School Bus Driver

About the role

Be the first smile a student sees at the beginning of the school day and the last smile to end their school day. School Bus Drivers transport students to and from school and extracurricular events while ensuring student safety. This is an ideal opportunity for retirees, veterans, and people needing a flexible schedule. Full-time and part-time job opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety and traffic rules while on the road
• Ensure the bus is in good mechanical condition before starting routes or activities
• Follow assigned schedule for routes
• Maintain discipline with students on the bus and report any misconduct
• Exercise responsible leadership during out-of-town school activity trips
• Transport authorized passengers only
• Communicate effectively with teachers, principals, transportation staff, and dispatchers
• Obey and observe all traffic laws
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation

• Patient, attentive, and excellent decision-making skills
• Ability to work individually or with a bus monitor
