School Bus Driver

Part-time position for the 2026/2027 school year in North Ridgeville, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus safely along designated routes in various weather and traffic conditions, adhering to all traffic laws.
• Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus (checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels) before every route.
• Maintain discipline and order on the bus; enforce safety rules and report behavioral issues to school administrators or parents.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely.
• Pick up and drop off students at designated stops according to a strict, pre-planned time schedule.
• Communicate immediately with the director regarding delays, mechanical breakdowns, emergencies, or student altercations.
• Document mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts; fill out incident or maintenance reports as required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement and a School Bus (S) endorsement.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or major traffic violations in recent years; no more than 4 points on your license.
• Ability to pass thorough FBI and BCI background checks and random drug/alcohol screenings.
• Meet strict physical, hearing, and vision requirements, including a current T8 form.
• Complete a 15-hour pre-service training class.
