Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Investigates all types of criminal activities and assists prosecutors in case preparation
- Affords assistance to local, state, federal, and out-of-state police offices in making arrests and filing criminal cases
- Prepares and executes search and arrest warrants and serves subpoenas
- Interviews inmates and others to secure intelligence data and information
- Takes statements and confessions, develops informants, obtains evidence from police agencies and pen packets from various prison systems
- Maintains liaison with other police agencies in Tarrant County
- Evaluates video-taped interviews of children who are victims of physical/sexual abuse
- Carrying a firearm with legal authority to use in proper circumstances
- Conducts surveillance, raids, searches of premises and line-ups associated with investigations or allegations of criminal activity
- Collects, preserves, and tags evidence and determines the needs for crime laboratory analysis and identification
- Testifies in criminal trials
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Investigation Group as assigned or required
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in related field functioning as a law enforcement officer
- Texas Peace Officer certification from the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE)
- Mandatory firearms qualification and physical training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary and should be demonstrated with prior successful experiences
- Physical demands and work environment: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull
