About the role
The school clinical counselor provides assessment, counseling, education, and safety planning for all patients consulted. They work collaboratively with the clinical team and school team to meet the behavioral health needs of the patient.
Responsibilities
- Identify treatment needs and risk factors for patients
- Apply interventions and skill-building techniques
- Collaborate with the clinical team and school team
- Provide assessment, counseling, education, and safety planning
- Work independently with excellent communication and attention to detail
- Collaborate positively and professionally with medical professionals
- Work thoroughly and efficiently
Requirements
- Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or related degree
- Licensed as Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor – Independent
- Three years post-graduate professional social work experience
- MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners
- LPC under South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage Family Therapists
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Four to six years of relevant work experience
