About the role
This role is part of a broader effort to expand access to care across Virginia by meeting patients where they are. Through school-based services, we’re improving health outcomes early—and supporting healthier communities for the long term.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric patients (and select adults)
- Perform exams, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
- Deliver preventive care (sealants, fluoride, education)
- Treat acute and chronic dental conditions (restorations, extractions, minor procedures)
- Refer patients for specialty care when needed
- Educate patients and families on oral health
Requirements
- DDS or DMD from an accredited program
- Active Virginia dental license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA registration

- Passion for working with pediatric and underserved populations
Skills
- Commitment to community-based, mission-driven care
- Comfort working independently in a school-based setting
- Strong communication with patients, families, and staff
Benefits
- 4-day workweek (Mon–Thurs)
- 32–40 hours/week

- $200K – $230K
Schedule

- Travel between school sites
What Your Day Looks Like
- Work directly within local schools—meeting patients where they are
- Travel between nearby school sites
- Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and care teams
- Be part of an integrated care model (including medical and behavioral health referrals)
