The HealthCare Connection (THCC), founded in 1967, was Ohio’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Our mission is to provide quality and accessible primary healthcare services through community responsive approaches that address financial, geographic, and other barriers to care for residents of northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas. THCC is a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), the highest level of recognition for quality care, with two primary care locations and six school-based health centers serving over 20,000 patients. We offer services in Primary Care, Infectious Disease, Substance Use, Integrated Behavioral Health, Dental Services, Women’s Health, and Pharmacy.

About the Role

As a School Based Patient Service Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for every patient. As the welcoming face of our Health Center, you’ll support patients throughout the front desk registration process. We're looking for a customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to health equity for all.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients upon arrival
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
• Collect payments and co-pays for services
• Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments
• Assist patients with forms and paperwork
• Work with the Finance department regarding patient balances
• Support administrative and reporting tasks as needed

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting (front desk, registration, or scheduling roles preferred)
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
• Familiarity with EHR systems; NextGen experience is a plus
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment with frequent interruptions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
