About the role

The School Based Counselor position at Valley Youth House provides billable services within the school setting, including counseling services, collateral contacts, and administrative work. The role also involves meeting regularly with supervisors, attending team meetings, and completing required clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Spend 90% of time providing billable services within the school setting- including counseling services, collateral contacts, and administrative work.
  • Spend half of time working directly with students and/or their family members, engaging them in the treatment process.
  • Meet regularly with assigned supervisor to review caseload and discuss progress or regression.
  • Attend and actively engage in team meetings and professional development opportunities as assigned.
  • Complete and submit all required clinical documentation in a professional manner and within established program expectations and timeframes.
  • Administer assigned clinical assessments to all students on caseload and complete subsequent dictation according to established protocols.
  • Complete other assigned paperwork for the program and/or grant funding in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • A mature individual with sound judgment and appropriate role model for staff, youth, and families.
  • A master's degree in a counseling or related human services discipline, with some schools requiring license eligibility.
  • An individual with a history free of child abuse offenses and clear criminal, child abuse, FBI, and National Sex Offender clearances.
  • A passing score on the annual motor vehicle clearance.
  • The ability to work in a loud or distracting environment.

$27/hr to $30/hr
