About the role

The Trellis School is seeking entry-level Autism Instructors for full-time positions. These roles are located at Trellis School, 14450 York Rd Suite A, Sparks, MD 21152. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute naturalistic lesson plans outside of the classroom for learners that incorporate motivation and individualized education plan skills.
  • Demonstrate the use of evidence-based (ABA/VB) teaching strategies to shape skills across learning environments.
  • Implement learners’ individualized behavior, toileting, and feeding protocols.
  • Accurately complete daily data tracking and input responsibilities.
  • Implement feedback and instructional recommendations made by school team (teacher, BCBA, program specialists).
  • Create and prepare instructional materials for individual learners.
  • Participate in internal team meetings and high-profile meetings for students.
  • Support general school procedures such as arrival, lunch schedules, dismissal, cleaning tasks, field trips, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Technology: Knowledge of Trellis specific web-based data collection systems and Microsoft Word programs (including word, excel, power point).

  • Problem-solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, and applies feedback to improve performance.
  • Multi-tasking: Able to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Quality control: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality, and applies feedback to improve performance.
  • Safety and security: Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Skills

  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Knowledge of Maryland State Curriculum, accounting, policy and procedures manual(s), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports, letters, and emails as well as general correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with special needs children and in describing general work needs.

Pay

  • Starting Pay Scale:
    • High School Diploma: $21.00/hr
    • Associate's Degree/Undergraduate Degree: $21.50/hr
    • Masters Degree: $23.00/hr

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM.
