School Aide/Paraprofessional/ Student Assistant (Soaring Heights School)
Responsibilities
- Implements, models, and assists staff and caregivers with implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans and Individual Treatment Plans, as designed by Behavioral Specialists, located in school, home or community settings as specified in the individual plan.
- Supports student development of various behavioral and emotional skills as specified in the PBSP.
- Affords assistance to caregivers and staff with addressing therapeutic needs of the student.
- Implements Positive Behavior Support Plans and ABA-based interventions.
- Collects, enters, and graphs ABA data. Compiles and/or gathers, and organizes all data for monthly progress review.
- Affords assistance to school personnel (director, administrative assistant, teacher, teacher assistant, etc.) or student to arrange the school’s environment to best meet the student’s physical and psychological needs.
- Affords assistance to school personnel with creating, copying, grading of classroom and student materials.
- Affords assistance with proper crisis intervention and prevention techniques and completes appropriate forms.
- Performs Personal Care duties with toileting, eating and grooming activities when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years’ experience working with children in an educational, hospital or home setting
