About the role

Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students. Reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office.

Responsibilities

• Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students, which may include:
  • Identifying safety violations
  • Diffusing situations among students
  • Reinforcing positive social behavior
• Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job
• Ability to complete Crossing Guard training (if required for assignment)
• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing.

Return-to-work retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 9% lower than listed without falling below minimum wage.
