About the role
The Group Leader assists in supervising the program and ensures a safe, healthy, and constructive environment for all children.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the program to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Ensure all areas of responsibilities align with the mission and values of the Old Colony Y.
- Encourage and model the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect.
- Work collaboratively with the School Age Site Coordinator and other staff members.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving heavy equipment, and cleaning.
- Occasionally work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age and 6 months of school age experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
- Physical examination within the last 12 months.
- Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
- Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence.
- Ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs frequently (children).
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to identify the Old Colony Y's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
