About the role
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Program Director for our After School Program at Akron Elementary School in Akron, NY for the 2026–2027 school year.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
Requirements
Candidates may qualify with any of the following:
- Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
- School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
