Description LOCATION: Mettawee Community School in West Pawlet, VT HOURS: Monday-Friday, 2:25PM - 5:30PM JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt PAY: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour Employer-Paid Childcare Included Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Employer contributions cover the cost of care, so you can focus on your job while your child participates in a safe, structured, and engaging program, all without needing to arrange outside care. About The Role Healthy Kids Programs is hiring an After School Childcare Program Director to support our licensed school-age childcare program in West Pawlet, VT. This role functions as a Site Director–level leadership position within a Vermont DCF licensed school-age childcare and before/after school program setting. You will provide leadership, support site teams, maintain program quality and compliance, and ensure safe, engaging environments for children and families. This role is well suited for someone with experience in education, youth development, camps, recreation, childcare, or school-age programming who enjoys both leadership and direct work with children. Why You'll Love This Role You will lead school-based programs and directly impact program quality and successYou will work in a mission-driven organization focused on children and familiesYou will have employer-paid childcare available during your work hoursYou will be part of a supportive team with opportunities for professional growth and advancement What You'll Do Program Leadership Support engaging after school programming for school-age childrenCoach and support Site staff in daily program operationsMaintain safe, inclusive, and structured environments Licensing & Compliance (VT DCF Licensed Program) Support compliance with Vermont DCF licensing requirements and Healthy Kids policiesMaintain documentation, staff records, and licensing readinessSupport follow-up on inspections and corrective actions Staffing & Operations Provide on-site coverage to maintain required ratios in a school-age childcare program settingSupport scheduling, onboarding, and daily staffing needs Family & Community Engagement Build strong relationships with families and school partnersSupport enrollment and communication efforts Requirements What We're Looking For Must be 18+ years oldAssociate’s degree or higherAbility to meet Vermont DCF school-age program leadership requirements Must Also Meet ONE Of The Following 10+ months experience in school-age childcare or youth programmingVermont Afterschool Professional CredentialVermont Program Director CredentialVermont Teacher LicensureVermont On-the-Job Training CertificateMaster’s degree in a youth-related field We especially encourage applicants with experience as a Site Director, Assistant Director, or similar leadership role in: Before/after school programsSchool-age childcare programsSummer camp programs (including Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director experience)VT DCF licensed programs or other regulated childcare settingsYouth development, recreation, or school-based programs Prior Vermont background clearance and required trainings are preferred but may be completed after hire for qualified candidates.
