School Age Childcare Multi-Site Director - Before & After School

About the Role

The Multi-Site Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a defined set of school-based sites. They are on the ground — visiting sites regularly, supporting teachers, making sure programs run well, and building the kind of relationships with school building staff that make HKP a trusted presence in every school. This is a role for someone who is organized, dependable, and genuinely energized by the work closest to kids and families.

Program Locations include Oakside Elementary School, Uriah Hill Elementary School, and Woodside Elementary School in Peekskill, NY. Regular travel between both program sites is required. The schedule includes a morning program from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and an afternoon program from 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing: Sites are staffed and covered every day; scheduling gaps are anticipated and filled before they affect the program
  • Enrollment: Enrollment is at or above target at each site; families are satisfied and re-enrolling
  • Compliance: All sites operate in full compliance with state licensing; records are current; sites pass inspections
  • Building Partnerships: Principals and school staff view HKP as a dependable, communicative partner; day-to-day issues are resolved quickly at the building level

Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and leading staff, managing payroll, labor, and scheduling efficiency, monitoring enrollment and program quality, ensuring state licensing compliance, and building partnerships with school building staff.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience
  • School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience

Qualifications

  • Some experience managing or mentoring staff
  • Comfortable with scheduling, logistics, and managing daily operational coverage across multiple locations
  • Experience working directly with school building staff a plus
  • Familiarity with state childcare or school-age licensing requirements a plus

The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and a natural with kids and families. They must be comfortable giving feedback and having direct conversations with staff, and be a self-starter who can manage multiple sites without needing constant direction.

Pay

The pay rate is $17.75 per hour, with payday every other Friday.

Schedule

The schedule includes a morning program from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and an afternoon program from 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM.
