About the Role

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant Site Director for our Before and After School Programs at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year.

This part-time, non-exempt position offers opportunities in the morning program (7:00 - 8:15 am), afternoon program (3:00 - 6:00 pm), or both.

Pay

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule

Follows the school calendar

  • Morning Program: 7:00 - 8:15 am
  • Afternoon Program: 3:00 - 6:00 pm

Responsibilities

What success looks like:

  • Program Quality: Kids are engaged, safe, and having fun every day; the program reflects Healthy Kids Programs’ model and families consistently choose to re-enroll
  • Staffing: The site is fully staffed every day; teachers are prepared, supported, and showing up for the kids
  • Compliance: The site operates in ratio at all times; records are accurate and current; the program is ready for inspection on any given day
  • Inventory: The site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need; nothing runs out mid-week; restocking happens before it becomes a problem

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
  • Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
  • Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances
