About the role

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant for their Before and After School Programs at Knowlton Township Elementary School in Delaware, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year.

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs. Job status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion
  • Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program
  • Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies
  • Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

Qualifications

  • Successfully passes all required state background checks
  • Able to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children
  • Demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality
