School Age Childcare Assistant – After School

About the role

The After School Program Team is responsible for facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework assistance. They provide a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment and act as positive role models for children in the program. They report to the program ready to work at designated times and are expected to stay until the last child leaves the program. They communicate daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum.
• Provide a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment.
• Act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Communicate daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.
• Observe and follow state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (if applicable).

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably 1 year of experience working with kids under 13.
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB.
• Warm, friendly, and upbeat personality.
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.
