Washington County School Age Child Care (SACC) Program provides a safe, educationally enriched, quality care program for children attending Washington County Schools.
Responsibilities
- Maintain children's safety
- Provide a clean and safe environment
- Supervise and guide children through scheduled activities
- Implement state rules and regulations
- Effective and positive communication with parents and children
- Report suspected child abuse
- Prepare weekly lesson plans
- Report equipment hazards and safety concerns to the Site Director
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director
- Knowledge of proper safety drill procedures, including evacuation procedures and safe areas within the facility
- Maintain the policies and procedures of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Background check (every 5 years)
- First Aid, CPR, and AED training (will be provided when cleared for employment)
- Physical examination (every 3 years)
- 12 hours of state-approved professional development training each year (staff will be guided to websites to achieve the required training)

- Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
- Adaptability to making generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria
- Adaptability to dealing with students
Skills & Abilities
- Intelligence: The ability to understand instructions and underlying principles, reason, and make judgments
- Verbal: Ability to understand meanings of words and ideas associated with them
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to move the hands easily and skillfully
- Form Perception: To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures
- Color Discrimination: Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color
