Qualifications

  • Valid Administrators Certificate as issued by NYSED as a School Building Leader or School District Leader, and/or School Administrator.
  • NYS Teaching Certification valid for teaching students with disabilities, birth to grade 2, or certification in early education, or possess certification or licensure in speech-language pathology, psychology, occupational or physical therapy, or another related service.
  • Minimum of two years or equivalent experience in an early intervention or early childhood education program serving children ages birth to five, including direct experience delivering services to children with disabilities and their families.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Summary

The Per Diem School Administrator provides educational leadership to ensure compliance with NYSED regulations governing the approved 4410 preschool special education program. This position serves in a consultative capacity, supporting the Preschool Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator with regulatory compliance, educational administration, and policy interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated School Administrator for the approved preschool Special Education program.
  • Collaborate with Preschool Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator by offering administrative guidance, regulatory interpretation, and oversight related to operation and compliance of the approved preschool Special Education program.
  • Assist with professional development related to educational compliance and instructional quality.
  • Participate in leadership meetings as needed.
  • Support compliance with Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) and educational standards.
  • Minimal travel between counties for various meetings.

Physical Demands
