Scholarships
The Middle Georgia State University (MGA) Foundation offers over 150 scholarships funded through private donors. The quantity and variety are dynamic, as new donors learn of opportunities to invest in MGA students. Many foundation scholarships are general, while others apply to specific academic areas.
External Scholarship Search
The Office of Financial Aid encourages students to search for scholarships to help finance their education. Our office will occasionally post external scholarship announcements in Inside MGA as they are made available. You can conduct your own scholarship search through your affiliation with religious or civic organizations, local banks and credit unions, and employers.
How to Write a Scholarship Essay
A requirement for many scholarship applications is the submission of an essay. The topic of the essay may be very broad, or the organization might want to read your ideas on a particular issue that is currently affecting society. The method used to convey your ideas and your writing style can have an enormous impact on your application being selected to receive the scholarship.
