Position Summary

Essential Functions
- Serve as the Libraries' primary contact for scholarly communication questions and initiatives, leading the Libraries' leadership role in scholarly communications.
- Develop and implement policies related to copyright, open licensing, data sets, and Creative Commons licensed materials.
- Deliver educational and instructional programs on copyright, fair use, authors' rights, open access publishing, institutional repositories, and other related topics.
- Support and educate the campus community on scholarly communications, copyright, open access, transformative publishing agreements, open education, and systematic reviews.
- Promote and market open access, OER, and other issues related to scholarly communications to faculty and researchers.
- Create workshops, subject guides, and social media content for Open Access Week, literature reviews, plagiarism, and artificial intelligence.
- Educate and support grant applications for students and faculty, promoting open educational resources (OER) and open pedagogy practices.
- Work with Libraries' Administration, liaisons, and University departments to raise awareness and encourage adoption of OER in curricula and low-cost textbook alternatives.
- Investigate creating a Textbook Reserve collection at additional campuses and support the Libraries' textbook reserve initiatives.
- Create and maintain research guides and documentation on scholarly communication, OER, and predatory publishing.
- Act as a champion for the institutional repository (IR) and share responsibility for IR management.
- Stay current on regional, national, and international developments in scholarly publishing, open access, and open educational resources.
- Assist with annual collection of ACRL statistics and serve as the Libraries' representative to scholarly communications-related groups and committees.
- Participate in Libraries' liaison program, developing and reviewing research guides in assigned disciplines.
- Support the Libraries' Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to promoting the Libraries' needs and services as an active partner in the University's educational and research mission.
- Develop an annual professional development plan and engage in original scholarship, research, and scholarly projects related to the area of expertise or responsibility.
- Participate in Libraries' engagement events and contribute to fostering a positive view of the Florida Atlantic Libraries.
