Responsibilities
- Lead scheduling sessions with the Fortis Project Team, Client Project Teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in weekly pull planning sessions.
- Conduct site walks daily or as needed to accurately understand current stage of construction in relation to the plan.
- Proficient use of tools to create and manage master schedule (P6 Primavera and Microsoft Office Suite).
- Active listening with all project resources and ability to communicate needs effectively when capturing inputs, outputs, and requirements for the plan.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and develop schedules for varied projects and programs, within a construction setting.
- Understand how complicated systems go together to properly sequence detailed activities and to creatively re-sequence a schedule when conflicts arise.
- Process and incorporate delay claims and time extension requests and familiarity with various types of schedule analysis.
- Aid in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position’s and team’s objectives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of methods of construction practices and project execution.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in working with P6 Primavera and in Microsoft Office Suite.
- 4+ years of experience as a Project Scheduler / Scheduling Engineer.
- A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a professional office environment.
- Role is stationary, often standing or sitting for long periods of time, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
- Communication with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing is required.
- May occasionally push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs.
Travel Requirements
- All Fortis positions require some level of driving.
