About the Role
The Scheduler/Central Supply position ensures appropriate staffing for the facility while maintaining staffing regulations. The incumbent communicates effectively with all staff, tracks nursing employees' concerns, and maintains and orders medical supplies as needed for the nursing department.
Responsibilities
- Maintain schedule for Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s) and Nurses (RNs and LPNs)
- Reduce overtime in the nursing department in conjunction with the DON/Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Human Resources Director
- Assist in hiring new C.N.A.s and Nurses as needed, communicating with the DON/ADON and HR Director
- Maintain accurate time records for the nursing department, monitoring attendance (Call-Offs, Tardies, and No Call, No Shows)
- Responsible for timely ordering and stocking of medical supplies for the facility
- Ensure all nurses' stations are stocked with necessary supplies
- Organize nurses' stations on a weekly basis
- Organize all rented equipment (e.g., beds, wheelchairs) and return when not in use
- Assist with scheduling and transport of residents and escort needs
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent
- Previous scheduling experience desired
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to be resourceful, tactful, and proactive in dealing with issues
Physical Demands
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and transport such weight a minimum of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
