This is a 24-month W2 contract role in Charlotte, NC with a large power and utilities client, with potential for extension. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship. Pay is $72.00 - $82.00/hr; no PTO or benefits are provided, but an ACA-compliant supplemental package is available for enrollment.

About the Role

This position supports multiple energy storage and solar construction project teams through on-site field observations, schedule updates, change order evaluations, and project status reporting. The role requires expertise in field scheduling for large construction projects and proficiency in Primavera (P6).

Responsibilities

  • On-site field experience observing project progress and tracking performance via schedule updates.
  • Review and analysis of project schedules in Primavera (P6), including basis and qualifications.
  • Incorporate implementation details into the schedule once contracts are awarded.
  • Define and analyze the project schedule baseline in P6.
  • Develop a site-integrated schedule in P6, including other site work activities that impact or are impacted by the project.
  • Work with contract vendors to gather and verify updated schedules for projects.
  • Maintain and update the site-integrated schedule.
  • Support development of recovery plans and project changes as necessary.
  • Review Project Change Requests for impact to schedule.
  • Support project scheduling required for Funding submittals.
  • Support project reporting (e.g., Project Status Reports) with the project team.
  • Perform schedule adherence reporting and variance analysis.
  • Provide day-to-day analysis and evaluation of data associated with portfolios, programs, and projects.
  • Serve as an expert practitioner in project controls (cost, contract, WBS, schedule, resource, etc.).
  • Perform complex aspects of individual project estimating, scheduling, change documentation, and cost control while communicating program or portfolio status.
  • Apply advanced project controls principles to establish and maintain rigorous performance standards.
  • Ensure project control data collection tools, analysis, communication, and reporting systems are accurate and functioning according to Enterprise policies and PMCoE requirements.
  • Support communication of project, program, and portfolio performance, including interpretation of trends and forecasts.
  • Contribute to analysis and results of project cost, forecasts, contracts, schedules, and resources.
  • Incorporate developmental/implementation details into the schedule once contracts are awarded.
  • Integrate with other site work activities that impact or are impacted by the project.
  • Define implementation baseline dates.
  • Maintain and update all owner implementation work, including development and maintenance of the site-integrated schedule.
  • Develop and generate periodic project controls communications and routine analytics for prescribed business unit communications.
  • Collect, verify, validate, and analyze data to support project controls communications.
  • Distribute and archive project controls reports as appropriate.
  • Provide presentation-quality reports and communications to project and management teams, and present as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 9 years of project controls experience.
  • Minimum of 11 years of project controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Primavera (P6).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, finance, project management, or equivalent.
  • Experience tracking project resources and quantities using Primavera or other software.
  • PMI or AACE certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in software such as MS Project/MS Office Suite, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Access, Powerplant, Maximo or EAM, PeopleSoft, and schedule analysis software like Deltek Acumen.
  • Expert user of Excel.
  • Prior utility experience.
  • Experience evaluating vendor change orders and time impacts.
  • Ability to lead complex assignments.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative team member.

Pay

$72.00 - $82.00/hr (W2 contract, no PTO or benefits). ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

Schedule

24-month contract with potential for extension.
