Scheduler Cath Lab - PRN - 1st Shift

About the role

The scheduler is responsible for scheduling procedures for the Cath/EP/Cardioversion Labs. Other responsibilities include assisting physicians and staff as necessary; providing effective communication within the department; maintaining a safe, orderly office environment; training of new scheduling staff.

Qualifications

• Education required: High School diploma/GED required
• Experience: Previous secretarials/receptionist/customer service role minimum of 2 years experience required

Additional Skills/Abilities

• Must have above average verbal and written communication skills
• Must have knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
• Must be pc computer literate, able to type 50 wpm minimum and have a working knowledge of WordPerfect, Excel and Work applications
• Must be able to operate communication systems appropriately (beepers, telephones, fax machines, copiers, etc.)
• Must be able to organize work load, accomplish goals and objectives, and meet deadlines
• Must be able to establish priorities and follow up in problem solving including the ability to adapt to an often stressful and rapidly changing environment
• Must have quality orientation and be attentive to detail
• Ability to do problem solving and negotiate for positive results with staff and physicians
• Absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient records
• Able to accurately meet set monthly deadlines
