About the role

The Scheduler 2 position within JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group focuses on industrial and manufacturing projects. This role involves preparing, building, and updating project schedules, performing schedule reviews, assisting with training, and supporting various aspects of planning and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and updates project schedules collaboratively with the project team.
• Performs schedule reviews to ensure best practices are utilized and communicates feedback diplomatically.
• Participates in all phases of construction planning and scheduling, including proposal schedules and ongoing updates.
• Utilizes JE Dunn scheduling software and assists with training content and course preparation.
• Visits job sites regularly to review job status and update project schedules.
• Supports Lean and Pull Planning sessions by aligning CPM schedules with pull plan results.
• Supports the preparation of various reports as required for assigned projects.
• Adds resource and cost loading to schedules collaboratively created with the project teams.
• Provides planning and scheduling support to operations, marketing, and other internal functions.
• Understands market and regional information impacting project schedules.
• Participates in pursuit opportunities with business development and the project team.
• Conducts detailed critical path analysis for problem projects and assists with root cause analysis.
• Assists project teams in schedule sequencing, methods of construction, project delays, and recovery schedules.
• Facilitates planning and scheduling training for internal team members.
• Attends job pre-planning meetings, post-construction meetings, and monthly project status review meetings.

Requirements

• Ability to perform work accurately and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Intermediate communication skills, verbal and written.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling software and implementation.
• Intermediate knowledge of work activity sequencing, activity durations, and scheduling concepts.
• Advanced proficiency in scheduling software.
• Intermediate knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members.
• Ability to effectively collaborate as a team, both internally and externally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years planning and scheduling experience preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office – Advanced.
• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications – Advanced.
• Ability to recognize schedule sequencing areas of concern during job site visits – Intermediate.
• Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management – Intermediate.
• Knowledge of scheduling software and implementation – Intermediate.
• Knowledge of most types of construction projects and delivery methods – Intermediate.
• Knowledge of work activity sequencing, activity durations, scheduling concepts, and best practices – Intermediate.
• Proficiency in scheduling software – Advanced.
• Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy – Intermediate.
• Ability to import schedules into JE Dunn’s standard scheduling software.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members.
• Ability to effectively collaborate as a team, both internally and externally.
