SCE SPED Resource Teacher

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructs individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
• Maintains physical environment of the classroom.
• Maintains contact with parents of students.
• Works with staff to coordinate goals and objectives.
• Aids the student in making a realistic assessment of his abilities and in establishing educational and occupational goals in keeping with these abilities.
• Aids in screening, evaluating, and recommending placements of applicants in the school's program.
• Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
• Prepares report cards, reading records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other misc. survey and forms.

Qualification Requirements

• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education.
• Certification/License: Special Education Mild Intervention MOMH/Severe (optimal certification).

Physical Demands

• Frequent sitting and standing.
• Bending or twisting at the neck and back.
• Close vision to read typewritten material.
• Lifting up to 90 pounds.
