About the Role
Lees Marketplace is hiring Scanning Clerks to assist with pricing throughout the entire store. You will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our pricing by changing prices in the register system, printing, hanging, and validating tags. This role offers the opportunity to have your evenings free while working with a company that values integrity and honesty.
Responsibilities
- Develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
- Promote a high level of morale within the department and store using honest and open communication.
- Provide a safe, clean, and positive environment while supporting a culture of relationships and continuous improvement.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs; refer to the Team Member Handbook to ensure adherence.
- Promote a harassment-free environment and report any potential harmful situations to management immediately.
- Build knowledge and skills through training and education for yourself and other team members.
- Attend departmental, store, and company meetings as required; contribute to profits, revenues, and productivity standards.
- Test, verify, and scan all UPC-marked items in the store on a rotation basis, with frequent price verifying on direct-store delivery items.
- Ensure all price changes are accurately reflected on items, shelf tags, and in-store signs.
- Maintain exact correspondence between in-store price markings and the in-store price file.
- Monitor pricing for errors and correct them immediately.
- Maintain productivity standards by adhering to the daily task list.
- Keep adequate and appropriate department records and update price books weekly.
- Assist guests with inquiries about product and department locations in a friendly and professional manner.
Requirements
- No experience necessary; training will be provided.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
- Availability between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Proficiency with equipment such as computers, printers, FM machines, box cutters, and paper cutters.
Physical Abilities
- Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, twist, and bend.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance.
- Occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl.
- Lifting may include floor-to-shoulder and overhead lifting.
- Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders.
Communication
- Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members, and guests.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance manuals.
