Responsibilities
- Forms infold carton and positions on scale platform for packing.
- Neatly packs carton with layers of sheeted bacon.
- Scales to proper weight. If overweight, removes bacon until acceptable limit is obtained. If underweight, neatly adds weight slices until acceptable.
- Adds cover sheet and folds cover. Sets aside carton to conveyor.
- Properly packs and scales bacon.
- Monitors scale tare for correct setting and keeps area clean.
- In downgrade position, inspects bacon slices to meet specific standards for various orders as set by leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Skills
Tools & Equipment: Box supplies and scale.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Vision requirement of at least 20/40 for near and far vision.
Safety Equipment/Training
- Bump cap, hair/beard net, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection, safety shoes.
- Mandatory training/competency to be earned: Proper lifting, PPE, and GMP.
Pay
Competitive starting pay: $22.91/hour. $1.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift positions.
