Scale Operator

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operator to join our Grain Operations team. This role ensures the efficient and safe handling of grain activities while maintaining strong communication with team members, customers, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Weigh trucks as they arrive at the location.
- Obtain grain samples using necessary equipment and grade grain accordingly.
- Communicate grain type and grade to grain attendants for each load.
- Work closely with the Location Manager to ensure day-to-day grain activities run efficiently.
- Maintain facility housekeeping, including the elevator, buildings, and grounds.
- Communicate daily with grain supervisors or attendants to understand grain strategies and receive task instructions.
- Partner with Grain Accounting for accurate and efficient grain accounting.
- Regularly contact customers to inform them of dumping hours, potential delays, and market opportunities.
- Assist customers with marketing possibilities and work toward purchasing producers' grain.
- Stay informed of current company programs and information necessary for accurate grain handling.
- Provide daily market prices and pertinent market information to customers.
- Keep the grain room, scale area, scale, and grading equipment clean and in optimal working condition.
- Depending on location, may be responsible for making grain contacts and settlements.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including US DOT drug and alcohol testing, Agtegra’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy, OSHA regulations, and the Agtegra Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- English proficiency.
- Ability to perform physical job duties, including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.

- Experience in agriculture.
