Scale Clerk
Job Description
The Scale Clerk position at Walbec Group's Aggregate facilities is a seasonal role running from mid-April through November. The Scale Clerk is responsible for weighing and ticketing customer trucks to maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Weigh and ticket incoming and outgoing truck loads for onsite and remote scales
- Print tickets and handle customers during the sale process for onsite and remote scales
- Perform general clerical duties including answering phones, customer service, filing, and light record keeping
- Provide administrative support to Site Supervisors and quarry staff
- Handle all credit transactions and process cash deposit slips (no cash transactions)
- Maintain the scale shack appropriately and order supplies as needed
- Administer site-specific training or information as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to multi-task
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Products
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including occasional Saturday and intermittent night shifts as needed
- Prior experience working with dispatching or scales (preferred)
- Prior experience working in customer service and cash-handling roles (preferred)
- Self-directed and motivated
