SCADA Administrator

Responsibilities

• Design, programing, and implementation of the new SCADA system(s)
• Provide day to day operational support for the existing system(s)
• Utilize and integrate the latest technologies, developments and trends in the Gas PLC and SCADA systems industry to enhance current operations
• Maintain a strong working relationship with all management, supervisory, IT and operating staff in their designated area
• Communicate effectively with the energy control center to support both field and energy distribution operations

Skills

• Maintain currency with latest trends in automation designs and equipment for the Gas industry
• Fluent in all aspects of SCADA System including: AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA) baseline platform, HMI display development, Realtime Database implementation, Historical Database data interfaces and reports, Gas Measurement Metering, Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues
• Work closely with Field Technicians to configure, test, and troubleshoot data polling from the SCADA System to field RTUs
• Work with Gas Control operators to ensure the SCADA system is always providing them the ability to safely operate the pipeline
• Program wireless modems (Sierra Wireless and Digi)
• Build, configure, and maintain reports
• Document changes, obtain required approvals, and submit changes
• Knowledge of RTU/PLC protocol (Modbus, DNP3, BSAP)
• Ability to write simple scripts and SQL queries
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in a small team environment
