SCA Estimator

Location: New York, NY

Compensation range: $45–58 per hour

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other client documentation to accurately prepare estimates.
• Collaborate with project leads and leadership to develop estimates as part of larger scope packages.
• Prepare detail‑oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and change orders, meeting assigned deadlines.
• Estimate shop labor, field installation, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs, including specialty equipment such as lifts or generators.
• Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications; perform material “take‑offs” and calculate associated costs.
• Work directly with Sales and Pre‑construction Teams to understand project size, scope, timelines, and deadlines.
• Discuss alternative recommendations and value‑engineering options when management requires cost‑effective solutions.
• Summarize pricing estimates for new projects and change orders with appropriate leaders to ensure complete job coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience working on SCA projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team player who can build effective working relationships in a collaborative environment.
