About the role
As an SBA Specialist, you would be proactively involved in helping small business clients achieve their goals while being part of a professional SBA team committed to serving communities.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate SBA transactions in support of Relationship Managers and provide ongoing SBA education.
- Create strategies to originate SBA loans in collaboration with Relationship Managers and Small Business Department managers.
- Present the bank's loan capabilities and structure SBA loan proposals.
- Provide SBA education and resources to Relationship Managers through group presentations, one-on-one consultations, reference materials, and an intranet site.
- Develop and maintain client-specific SBA communication plans to enhance client relationships and address client needs.
- Market SBA products/services to identified clients and referrals, prepare for joint client meetings, and follow up as necessary.
- Generate eligibility determinations, structure transactions, and collect requisite application documents for SBA loans.
- Aid Relationship Managers in selecting and implementing SBA lending programs as needed.
- Participate in client relationship planning and manage SBA loan projects as required.
- Stay updated on new products, methods, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other bank personnel to support client services and sales functions.
- Take a leadership role in community affairs and activities to enhance business development and community exposure.
- Comply with and manage risks according to Bank policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of dedicated SBA experience, including competence with large, complex SBA loan projects.
- A thorough understanding of SBA policies and structure, product knowledge, and financial analysis.
- A complete working knowledge of government, conventional, custom, and self-employed borrower loans.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to review and interpret complex data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to analyze, synthesize, and articulate complex ideas.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse groups of people.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products and strong PC-based technical skills.
- The ability to work under deadlines and stress while maintaining professionalism and maturity.
- The ability to gather data from various sources and positively represent the Bank during contacts.
- The ability to develop a subjective analysis of borrowers based on investor, insurer, and regulatory requirements.

Pay
$66,850 - $100,276 (Eastern, Washington and Idaho)
Candidates in the Western, Washington area can anticipate a salary range of $93,591 - $140,386
